Dr. McCann decided to pursue a career in endodontics and was accepted into the VA Long Beach Medical Center. Dr. McCann went on to complete a one-year general practice residency at Rochester General Hospital.
Following residency, Dr. McCann worked for the Navajo Indians in Arizona before returning to Buffalo to work in private general practice and as a part-time attending faculty in the ECMC residency program.
Dr. Aaron McCann grew up in Buffalo and is a graduate of Orchard Park High School. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame where he was a member of the men’s lacrosse team. Dr. McCann then graduated from SUNY at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in 2005 where he received numerous distinctions and honors including: Delta Sigma Delta award for the greatest proficiency in operative dentistry, Pierre Fauchard Academy Award for excellence in leadership, academics and clinical aspects of dentistry, Erie County Dental Society Chester A. Glor Award for love of dentistry, collegiality, and generosity to colleagues and community, and the American Association of Public Health Dentistry Award.
During this residency, he was able to train with and learn from some of the most famous endodontists in the world. Following the two-year specialty residency, Dr. McCann and his family decided to move back to Western New York to raise their family.
In his free time, Dr. McCann enjoys spending time with his wife Brigid and his three children, hiking, reading and cheering on the Buffalo Bills and Sabres.
