One of the machines our Buffalo dental office uses is called an apex locator, and it is used to locate the tooth’s apex, which is actually the end of the root. The apex locator allows us to precisely identify – within half, or even a quarter of a millimeter – the exact end of the root. That way, as we clean and fill the inside of the tooth, we can depend on that precision to make sure we’re working exactly where we want to be. The other benefit for you is that we can take fewer x-rays and provide a more comfortable treatment.
